Victoria offered Julian a deal.
Stop the investigation.
Protect the company.
And she would reveal what she knew about Nicholas.
Julian stared at her.
“Where is he?”
Victoria smiled faintly.
“Sign the agreement.”
He looked at the papers.
Then at her.
For a moment, I thought he might do it.
He had spent fourteen months searching for his brother.
Now the answer was sitting in front of him.
At a price.
Julian closed the folder.
“No.”
Victoria's smile vanished.
“What?”
He stood.
“I won't cover up what happened to those patients.”
Her expression hardened.
“You'll destroy the company.”
Julian looked at her.
“Then it deserves to be rebuilt.”
Silence.
Victoria stared.
Then whispered:
“You're making a mistake.”
Julian shook his head.
“No.”
He looked toward me.

Then back at his aunt.
“I made my mistake when I stopped listening to Nicholas.”
