Chapter 10 - THE WIFE WHO WALKED INTO THE BOARDROOM

Julian asked me to attend a meeting with him.
Not as his wife.
Not as his employee.
As someone who had noticed something important.
I hesitated.
“Julian.”
He smiled.
“Yes?”
“I clean conference rooms.”
He nodded.
“I know.”
“I don't run companies.”
He looked at me.
“You don't need to.”
I swallowed.
“Then why am I going?”
His expression softened.
“Because you asked the question nobody else asked.”
I stared.
He continued.
“And because I trust you.”
The following morning, I entered the Vale corporate boardroom.
Wearing a simple navy dress.
No diamonds.
No designer handbag.
Just me.
Victoria Vale sat at the head of the table.
She looked at me.
Then smiled coldly.
“Well.”
I stopped.
She continued.
“The cleaning girl.”
Julian's expression hardened.
But before he could speak, I smiled.
“Lena Morales.”
Victoria blinked.
I continued.
“And if we're going to discuss forged medical documents, I suggest we start with the signatures.”
May you like
The room went silent.
For the first time, Victoria Vale stopped smiling.
