Chapter 14 - THE WEDDING THAT HEALED TWO FAMILIES

Our wedding took place in a small chapel overlooking the Amalfi Coast.
The ceremony was intimate.
Family.
Friends.
And the people who had helped us rebuild our lives.
Isabella walked me down the aisle.
She wore a pale blue dress.
Her eyes filled with tears.
“You look beautiful,” she whispered.
I smiled.
“So do you.”
Alessandro stood at the altar.
He wore a dark suit.
His expression softened when he saw me.
During the ceremony, we exchanged vows in both English and Italian.
We promised honesty.
Respect.
Patience.
And a life where love would never be confused with control.
Afterward, we celebrated beneath the lemon trees.
There was music.
Laughter.
And enough food to feed a small village.
At sunset, Isabella approached us carrying a small wooden box.
Inside was my grandmother's music box.
“She wanted you to have this,” Isabella whispered.
I opened it.
The familiar lullaby began playing.
I cried.
Alessandro wrapped an arm around me.
And for one beautiful moment, I felt as though Nonna Giulia was there.
Watching.
May you like
Smiling.
Finally at peace.
