Chapter 13 - THE WOMAN WHO SAVED HER FATHER'S COMPANY

Genevieve took control of Hayes Logistics.
She hired independent auditors.
Reviewed contracts.
Met with employees.
And began rebuilding trust.
The company had suffered under the uncertainty surrounding Preston's attempted takeover.
But Genevieve refused to sell.
She worked long hours.
Asked difficult questions.
And learned from people who understood the business better than she did.
Margaret Ellis remained her closest adviser.
Within a year, Hayes Logistics stabilized.
Genevieve introduced stronger oversight and transparent reporting.
She also established a scholarship program for children of dockworkers.
At the opening ceremony, she stood beside a photograph of her father.
"I used to think leadership meant knowing every answer," she told the audience.
"Now I think it means being willing to ask the right questions."
The employees applauded.
Roman watched from the back of the room.
Afterward, he approached.
"Your father would be proud."
Genevieve smiled.
"I hope so."
Roman looked at her.
"I am."
Her heart skipped.
She laughed softly.
"You're not my father."
"No."
He smiled.
"I'm very aware of that."
May you like
Genevieve blushed.
And Roman laughed.
