Chapter 8 - THE WAREHOUSE WITH NO WINDOWS

Amelia Grant listened carefully as Delia described the financial records.
She was a former federal prosecutor who now represented corporate whistleblowers.
“You need to stop investigating alone,” Amelia said.
Delia nodded.
“We'll preserve the records lawfully and contact the appropriate authorities.”
“What about my father?”
Amelia studied her.
“That depends on the evidence.”
Delia looked down.
“And my sister?”
“Same answer.”
The investigation expanded.
Authorities reviewed the warehouse records.
They obtained warrants.
And eventually searched the closed storage facility.
Inside, investigators found evidence that the building had been used for unauthorized shipments.
They also recovered personal belongings linked to Nathaniel Price.
But Nathaniel wasn't there.
Days later, a detective contacted Amelia.
They had found a witness who claimed Nathaniel had been moved to another location.
Delia sat across from Casimir when she heard the news.
“Alive?”
The detective hesitated.
“We have reason to believe he may still be alive.”
Delia covered her mouth.
Casimir reached across the table.
He didn't touch her.
He simply placed his hand nearby.
“You did the right thing,” he said.
She looked at him.
“I'm scared.”
“I know.”
“What if my father finds out?”
May you like
Casimir's expression softened.
“Then we'll make sure you're not facing him alone.”
