Chapter 9 - The Rebuilding of Vance Manor

The summer sun beamed down on the sprawling grounds of Vance Manor.
The front lawn had been completely redesigned. The scarred earth where the old crib had landed was now a magnificent circular rose garden blooming in vibrant shades of white, crimson, and gold, centered around a hand-carved stone fountain.
Inside the house, the master nursery had been rebuilt into a sun-drenched sanctuary with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the private gardens.
In the corner stood a new, custom-crafted solid maple crib, engraved with delicate floral vines and Maya’s initials: M.V.
Arthur Vance sat in a comfortable armchair beside the crib, holding seven-month-old Maya on his lap. Maya was giggling happily, her bright hazel eyes full of light, clutching her grandfather's gold pocket watch with tiny, curious fingers.
"She has your mother's smile, Elena," Arthur said warmly, looking up with profound pride.
"And she has your stubborn courage, Dad," I smiled, walking over and handing him a fresh cup of tea.
