Chapter 8 - THE SECRET INSIDE BLACK HARBOR

The investigation uncovered a disturbing pattern.
Several vessels connected to the proposed Langford agreement had inconsistent ownership histories.
Some records listed companies that no longer existed.
Others referenced insurance documents that had been revoked.
And one vessel appeared under two different names.
Dominic's legal team brought in independent auditors.
I was asked to review the maritime documentation.
Not because I was Dominic's wife.
Because I had handled the original Northstar Belle case.
Three days into the review, I found something.
A series of payments routed through a shell company registered in Delaware.
The company was linked to an old Black Harbor executive.
A man named Victor Sloane.
Dominic recognized the name immediately.
His expression darkened.
“Victor.”
I looked at him.
“Who is he?”
Dominic was silent for a moment.
Then answered:
“My father's former partner.”
My stomach tightened.
“And?”
Dominic looked toward the window.
“He tried to take control of Black Harbor twelve years ago.”
I stared.
“What happened?”
May you like
Dominic's expression became cold.
“He disappeared.”
