Chapter 4 - The Security Footage of the Rupture

"Elena, you ungrateful little monster!" Agnes yelled, her face flushing crimson with desperate fury. "Even if you own the brick and mortar, I am Leo's mother! You abandoned us for two whole days without making meals! You left dirty pans in the sink!"

Alexander didn't raise his voice. He simply gestured to Marcus, his chief of digital security.

Marcus placed a high-definition tactical tablet on the kitchen island and pressed play.

The screen illuminated with crystal-clear 4K footage from the hidden architectural camera mounted above the kitchen range—installed three months ago during the kitchen's smart-ventilation upgrade.

The video displayed the events of Tuesday morning:

Timestamp 09:14 AM: I am seen gripping the edge of the granite island, doubling over in agonizing, breathless pain as my ectopic pregnancy ruptured, internal hemorrhaging causing me to collapse hard onto the tile.

Timestamp 09:16 AM: Agnes walks into the kitchen wearing a floral robe. She looks down at my semi-conscious, trembling body on the floor.

Timestamp 09:17 AM: Agnes steps directly over my legs, turns on the electric kettle, selects a tea bag, and watches water boil while I whisper, “Agnes... please... call 911... I'm bleeding inside...”

Timestamp 09:20 AM: Agnes takes her steaming mug, says out loud, “Stop making a scene over a stomachache, I'm missing my morning soap opera,” and walks out of the kitchen, closing the door behind her.

Chloe sat frozen, her jaw hanging open.

Agnes took two frantic steps backward, her breath hitching in her throat as the undeniable, monstrous evidence of her depravity echoed through the room.

"You left my sister to bleed to death on a tile floor while you made peppermint tea, Agnes," Alexander said, his voice dropping into a tone of chilling, absolute execution. "If the building's maintenance supervisor hadn't arrived twenty minutes later to service the water heater and called an ambulance, Elena would have gone into irreversible hemorrhagic shock."
