Chapter 4 - THE EVIDENCE THAT SHOULDN'T EXIST

Gabriel Bennett was forty-two.

Founder of Bennett Global Capital.

Julian was thirty-nine.

CEO of a cybersecurity company valued at several billion dollars.

Nathaniel was thirty-six.

Owner of a private aviation and logistics empire.

They were my biological brothers.

We had been separated after our parents died.

I was placed into foster care.

They were sent to relatives.

For years, they searched for me.

But records had been altered.

Names changed.

Addresses lost.

Then Julian found a connection.

A childhood photograph.

A school record.

A sealed adoption file.

And finally, me.

They had been preparing to contact me when news of my arrest appeared online.

Now they stood in front of me.

Gabriel looked at the bruises on my wrists.

His expression hardened.

“Who did this?”

I shook my head.

“It's nothing.”

He looked at me.

“Ellie.”

My throat tightened.

Then I began crying.

Not because I was afraid.

Because for the first time in years, someone was looking at me as though my pain mattered.

Julian placed a folder on the table.

“We hired an independent defense team.”

I stared.

Nathaniel leaned forward.

“And we reviewed the traffic evidence.”

My heart raced.

“What did you find?”

Julian opened the folder.

A photograph appeared.

A black Mercedes.

A woman behind the wheel.

Blond hair.

A pale coat.

Saraphina.

I stared.

Then whispered:

“Oh my God.”

May you like

Julian nodded.

“The camera wasn't broken.”
