Chapter 11 - THE WOMAN WHO REFUSED TO BE HIS WEAKNESS
Nora returned to work part-time after her doctors cleared her.
Raphael had offered her a long paid leave.
She accepted enough time to recover safely.
But she also made something clear.
“I don't want special treatment because we're dating.”
Raphael looked at her.
“You nearly died protecting me.”
“That doesn't make me incapable of doing my job.”
“I know.”
“Then don't treat me differently.”
He smiled faintly.
“That's going to be difficult.”
Nora raised an eyebrow.
“Why?”
“Because I'm in love with you.”
She froze.
Raphael looked suddenly uncertain.
“I wasn't planning to say that.”
Nora stared at him.
Then laughed.
“You're terrible at romance.”
“I know.”
She stepped closer.
“I love you too.”
Raphael closed his eyes.
For a moment, he looked almost relieved.
Then Nora added:
“But I'm still going to tell you when your numbers are wrong.”
