Chapter 12 - THE MAN WHO CHOSE HIS SON

Dominic's influence over the Romano organization weakened.

Vincent began withdrawing from unlawful operations and restructuring his legitimate companies under independent oversight.

He cooperated with legal advisers and authorities where required.

Dominic was furious.

He accused Vincent of betraying the family.

Vincent disagreed.

One evening, Dominic confronted him in his office.

“You're throwing away everything your father built.”

Vincent looked up.

“My father built a life where nobody was safe.”

Dominic stared.

Vincent continued.

“I won't give that to Luca.”

Dominic laughed bitterly.

“You think a waitress changed you?”

Vincent considered.

Then smiled faintly.

“No.”

He looked toward a drawing on his desk.

A green dragon.

Three people.

A bright yellow sun.

“My son did.”

Dominic left.

The transition took time.

There were legal consequences.

Financial complications.

Difficult decisions.

But Vincent stayed committed.

He wanted Luca to inherit something better than fear.

A family.

A home.

A father who was present.

And for the first time, he began building exactly that.
