Chapter 4 - The Restored Driveway Camera

At 4:45 AM, Marcus set up a portable encrypted field terminal inside the consultation lounge.

Beside him sat Julian Hayes—my chief legal counsel, who had just arrived via private jet from Seattle.

"Boss," Marcus said, typing a command into the terminal. "Our cyber unit in Vancouver bypassed Christopher’s local override. We recovered the unedited 4K footage from the Harrington estate’s exterior surveillance network."

The screen illuminated with crystal-clear high-definition footage timestamped 2:10 AM to 2:40 AM:

The Dining Room: Samantha sitting calmly, pushing the fraudulent transfer deed away.

The Assault: Rosalind slamming the heavy leather binder into Samantha's face, splitting her lip, while Valerie grabbed her hair and slapped her repeatedly.

The Dragging: Christopher and Valerie pinning Samantha's arms behind her back, dragging her barefoot down the back stairs and across eighty yards of snow-covered lawn.

The Abandonment: Rosalind stripping Samantha’s coat, tossing her onto the frozen soil beside the greenhouse, and locking the service gate with a padlock.

The Cold Audio: Rosalind’s clear, audible voice on the microphone: “Let the frostbite teach her some humility. By six in the morning, she’ll beg to sign away every acre.”

Julian Hayes closed his leather portfolio with a sharp, echoing snap.

"That constitutes Attempted First-Degree Premeditated Murder, Aggravated Kidnapping, Felonious Assault with a Deadly Object, and Conspiracy to Defraud an Estate under Alaska Criminal Code § 11.41," Julian declared with absolute legal authority.

"And where is Valerie right now?" I asked.

"Valerie fled to her condo in downtown Anchorage with the original forged estate deed," Marcus reported. "My tactical team is outside her door as we speak."

"Bring her in," I ordered. "And bring the documents."
