Chapter 9 - THE TRUTH ABOUT ENZO
The investigation into the forged documents widened.
Financial records revealed that Enzo had been negotiating privately with the developer for months.
He expected a substantial personal payment if the Marigold property changed hands.
Dominic learned about it through the family attorney.
He confronted Enzo.
At first, Enzo denied everything.
Then he blamed Elliot.
“He doesn't know what he's doing.”
Dominic looked at him.
“Then why forge his signature?”
Enzo went silent.
Dominic's face hardened.
“You tried to steal from your brother.”
Enzo looked away.
“I was protecting the family.”
“No,” Dominic said.
“You were protecting yourself.”
For the first time, Enzo had no answer.
Dominic ordered the family businesses to cooperate with the legal investigation.
He also removed Enzo from his management position pending review.
The decision shocked everyone.
But Dominic had finally begun to understand something.
He had spent years rewarding the son who demanded attention.
