Chapter 1 - THE NAME IN THE HALLWAY

It ends at West Hollywood Hospital after Daniel Whitmore discovers his fiancée, Vanessa Hart, dragging an injured housekeeper, Maria Collins, through the east hallway of his Beverly Hills mansion.
Before losing consciousness, Maria whispers:
“She knows about Noah.”
At the hospital, Maria reveals Noah is her seven-year-old son.
Then she delivers the truth that changes Daniel’s life:
Noah’s father is Andrew Whitmore.
Daniel’s younger brother.
The brother presumed dead after a boating accident six years earlier.
The brother whose body was never recovered.
Maria looks directly at Daniel and says:
“Andrew isn’t dead. He faked the accident.”
But that is only half the truth.
Because Andrew did not disappear to escape the Whitmore family.
He disappeared because somebody inside it wanted him silenced.
