For nearly a year, I had believed Elise stole money from my medical-equipment company, met another man secretly in a hotel, and hid my grandfather’s antique watch in her closet.
I had divorced her without believing a single word of her defense.
Now two babies with hair almost exactly like mine were disappearing down the road.
