Chapter 1 - THE FALL THAT WASN’T AN ACCIDENT
SHE TRIED TO ELIMINATE THE PREGNANT WIFE WITH ONE PUSH... BUT SHE DIDN'T KNOW THE ENTIRE PLAN HAD ALREADY BEEN REVERSED.
The marble floor shook when Elena hit the ground.
The sound traveled through the enormous mansion.
Silence followed.
Vanessa remained standing at the top of the staircase.
Her face showed fear.
Her eyes showed calculation.
Then she quickly changed her expression and ran toward Mrs. Howard.
“I swear I didn't want this,” Vanessa said through fake tears. “She rushed toward me. I only pushed her away.”
Everyone looked down at Elena.
The pregnant woman wasn't moving.
Her pale face and weak breathing made the scene look devastating.
A tragic accident.
A terrible misunderstanding.
That was exactly what Vanessa wanted them to believe.
But Elena was not unconscious.
She was waiting.
She listened as Vanessa turned the entire family against her.
“She destroyed this family,” Vanessa said. “She never loved Mr. Howard. She only wanted his money and his house.”
The accusations continued.
But Elena had already prepared her answer.
Her fingers found the phone hidden beneath her cardigan.
One touch.
The call connected.
“Detective Ruiz...” Elena whispered. “The evidence is ready.”
A moment later:
“We're coming.”
Elena put the phone away.
She closed her eyes.
And waited for Vanessa's mistake to become complete.
Because Vanessa never realized something.
The mansion was not her stage.
It was Elena's courtroom.
Every camera had been recording.
Every conversation had been saved.
Every lie had been captured.
Vanessa thought she was creating a victim.
Instead, she was creating proof.
And when Detective Ruiz entered through the front doors...
