Chapter 6 - The Fall of Vanessa Hart

While renovations began on Russell Street, the digital storm surrounding the incident at The Roasted Bean detonated across the internet.

Vanessa Hart, unaware of who Elena De Luca was, posted her heavily edited three-minute video that evening. The clip was meticulously spliced to show Claire slapping a glass off the table, with text overlays claiming the waitress was "unhinged, aggressive, and harassing content creators."

Within four hours, the video had amassed three million views.

At midnight, De Luca Global’s digital forensics unit released the raw, unedited 4K security footage from three separate angles, complete with pristine directional audio.

The internet watched in high-definition as Vanessa deliberately kicked Elena’s cane behind the ficus plant, laughed as she swapped the iced tea for hard liquor, and threatened to ruin a working-class woman's life by fabricating accusations.

The backlash was catastrophic.

By 6:00 AM, five major cosmetic brands had terminated their ambassador contracts with Vanessa Hart, issuing public statements condemning disability discrimination and targeted harassment.

By noon, the Metropolitan Police issued a public notice confirming an active investigation into harassment, reckless endangerment, and beverage tampering under the Public Order Act.

Vanessa posted a frantic, tearful apology video from the back of an Uber, claiming she was "overwhelmed by stress" and "deeply misunderstood."

The public was merciless. Her follower count plummeted by two million in forty-eight hours. Every major agency dropped her from their roster. The weapon she had used to terrorize others had turned inward, dismantling her career down to the studs.

Integrity had collected its invoice. And the payment was due in full.
