It begins at 10:22 on a freezing Tuesday morning in Cincinnati, when Tessa Norwood’s seven-year marriage to Camden Rourke officially ends.
Back at her townhouse, Tessa removes her former mother-in-law, Lenore Rourke, as an authorized user from a premium credit card connected to Tessa’s personal account.
For almost six years, Lenore had used that card for hotels, designer clothes, airline tickets, restaurants, jewelry and the endless expenses she claimed were necessary to “represent the family.”
Tessa clicks once.
Done.
But Lenore losing access to the card is not what frightens the Rourkes.
What frightens them is that the card statements connect dates, locations and reimbursements to the Rourke Family Promise Foundation.
