The storage device contained financial records.
Security logs.
Emails.
And photographs.
Investigators reviewed the files.
They revealed that Daniel Cross had been diverting money from Cole's businesses through unauthorized contracts.
He'd also arranged payments to individuals connected to violent operations Cole hadn't approved.
But the most disturbing evidence involved Claire's death.
One email referred to her car.
Another mentioned the route she would take that evening.
A third contained instructions to ensure she never reached her destination.
Cole stared at the documents.
His face went white.
Marcus stood beside him.
“Boss…”
Cole shook his head.
“No.”
He looked at the photograph of Claire.
Then whispered:
“He killed her.”
Elena covered her mouth.
For three years, Cole had believed his wife died in an accident.

Cole sank into a chair.
His hands trembled.
Elena approached.
“Cole.”

“I let him into our home.”

“He held my son when Claire died.”
