Chapter 12 - THE MAN WHO CHOSE HIS DAUGHTER

Luca made several decisions that changed the Moretti household.
He ended all business arrangements connected to Bellini Heritage Management.
He authorized an independent review of Sofia's trust.
He strengthened oversight of family financial matters.
And he established clear boundaries around Sofia's medical care.
Vanessa's proposed changes were withdrawn.
The trust remained dedicated to Sofia's benefit under its existing lawful arrangements.
Investigators continued examining the altered medical documents and the circumstances surrounding the surveillance of Sofia's vehicle.
Luca refused to interfere.
He wanted the truth established properly.
One evening, Carlo Bellini requested a meeting.
Luca agreed to speak with him through attorneys.
Carlo admitted that Vanessa had pushed aggressively for the trust-management arrangement.
He claimed he hadn't understood the full extent of her actions.
Luca listened.
Then said:
“You should've asked why my daughter's condition mattered to your business.”
Carlo looked down.
Luca continued.
“She isn't a transaction.”
The meeting ended.
That evening, Luca returned home early.
Sofia was in the garden.
I was beside her.
He watched us from the terrace.
Sofia looked up.
“Daddy!”
He smiled.
“Hey, sweetheart.”
She waved him over.
“Come see what we planted!”
He approached.
Three small rosebushes stood beside the path.
Sofia pointed.
“One for Mommy.”
“One for me.”
Then she looked at me.
“And one for Emily.”
Luca smiled.
“That's beautiful.”
Sofia looked at him.
“Can we plant one for you too?”
He laughed softly.
May you like
“Of course.”
And for the first time, the garden felt like a place where their family could grow again.
