It ends with my supposedly dead pregnant wife, Chloe Vanguard, being pulled from her own coffin after paramedics discover a faint heartbeat.
My mother-in-law Eleanor does not look relieved.
She looks terrified.
Her son Preston whispers:
“You don’t have any idea what you are touching, Liam.”
He is wrong.
Three days before Chloe supposedly died, she sent me an encrypted warning:
“If anything happens to me, Liam… do not trust my mother.”
And hidden in my suit pocket is the flash drive Chloe concealed behind the baseboard in our unborn daughter’s nursery.
By the time the ambulance doors close, I understand one thing.
Someone did not simply misdiagnose my wife.
