Chapter 1 - THE WOMAN IN MY BED
Use the supplied opening as the official Chapter 1.
It ends with me discovering my husband, Ryan Keller, in our bedroom with another woman.
Before Ryan can manufacture an explanation, the woman produces a marriage certificate.
Her name is Natalie Keller.
And legally, she married Ryan four years before I did.
“We were never divorced,” she tells me.
“He lied to both of us.”
Ryan tries to grab the certificate.
I slap him.
When he seizes my wrist, Natalie hits him with her purse and shoves him backward onto the bed.
Then we find documents showing Ryan has used both our names in connection with loans against the house.
I call the police.
Natalie blocks the bedroom door.
Ryan begs.
We do not.
And when officers lead the man both of us once called husband away in handcuffs, I make the mistake of thinking the worst secret in our marriage has already been exposed.
