Vanessa disappeared from executive circles.
For a while.
Then she did something unexpected.
She rebuilt.
After cooperating with investigators and serving the consequences tied to her conduct, she took an entry-level compliance job at a small transportation company in Maryland.
When Eleanor told me, I laughed.
“Compliance?”
“Apparently irony remains alive.”
Years later, Vanessa contacted me.
Not to apologize again.
To ask permission to reference a governance training case based on Vantage Meridian.

No names.
She was studying for a certification.
I stared at the email for a long time.
Then answered:
Use public facts only. Do not use personal details.
She replied:
Understood. Thank you.
That was our entire relationship.
People sometimes expected me to hate her forever.
I didn’t.
She participated in harming me.
She also faced consequences and eventually chose another direction.
I did not need her punished every morning for the rest of her life in order to live mine.
